1. One completely filled out Visa Application Form for the P.R. China (Q-1).

2. One recently taken 2X2 in. photo showing entire face without a hat on ( both ears must be seen). Only color photo is accepted. Do not crop your photo to fit into the photo box, simply staple it on the photo box in the application form. We do not recommend clients printing their own photos, photos taken by a FedEx Kinko's, UPS Store, Walgreens or Wal-Mart is recommended.

4. An applicant born in China (including Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore) who is applying for a Chinese visa with his or her new passport (without prior Chinese visa on it) is required to submit his or her Chinese passport or last foreign passport. If passport is not in possession, applicant must send in a notarized affidavit stating how the passport was lost.

5. A child of Chinese descent and born outside of China who applies for a Chinese visa for the first time is required to submit his or her Birth Certificate and current Passport.  One of his or her parents' Chinese passport with Alien Card (Green Card), or current non-Chinese passport are also required. Notarized copies are accepted.

6. Applicants applying for multiple entry tourist visas should submit:

(1) Originals or notarized copies of marriage certificate or certificate of kinship to prove that his or her spouse, children or parents are Chinese citizens and live in China; or
(2) Original or notarized copy of property ownership certificate to prove that the applicant owns real estate in China.
(3) American passport holder born in China can now apply for 6-month or 1-year tourist visa without producing supporting documents.
(4) It is now easier for US citizen who were born in China to qualify for a 24-month tourist visa.

7. The duration of each stay in China is up to 90 days. If you plan to stay more than 90 days, have a Chinese organization issued a letter to request it. Approval is not guaranteed, but without a letter, the application is guaranteed not approved. If you have a prior Chinese visa which permits you to stay in China for more than 90 days, then you do not need the letter, but make a copy of the visa and enclose it with the application. In the event that you need to stay beyond the duration given by the Chinese Embassy, you can have your visa extended by the Entry-Exit Administration of the city you are staying while you are in China.

8. An approval notice from China Tibet Tourism Bureau is required if you intend to travel to the Tibet Autonomous Region (Telephone number for the Tourism Bureau: 86-891-6834313, fax number: 86-891-6834632).

Student visas are generally issued to applicants who intend to study in China for more than 6 months.

Employment Visas are generally issued to applicants who are employed to work in China for more than 6 months and who intend to do business in China.

4. An employment letter from a Chinese government agency or a government-authorized company, together with a Hiring Foreign Expert Confirmation (Translation, document is in Chinese) from the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs in China. (The employer should know how to get it).
